Identification All signers must present valid, current government-issued photo identification at the time of the appointment.
Signatures Documents should remain unsigned. California requires most signatures to be made in the presence of the notary.
Scope of service A notary public verifies the identity of signers and witnesses signatures. I am not an attorney and am not authorized to provide legal advice, explain the contents of a document, or determine which notarial act is required. Please direct those questions to the document's preparer or to licensed legal counsel.
Most re-scheduled signings aren't hard files — they're missed details. Wrong date on the notarial certificate, a missing initial, a borrower who didn't know to bring ID. That's the part I own.
Refinance, purchase, HELOC, seller packages, loan modifications, and general real-estate instruments. Every deed and deed of trust gets the thumbprint California requires.
Evenings and weekends by arrangement. Confirmation to the borrower before the appointment, and a call to you if anything looks off before I leave the table.
Same-day scanbacks and drop confirmation. Documents go out the same business day unless you direct otherwise.

California caps what a notary may charge per signature. Travel is separate, quoted before I drive, and agreed in advance — never a surprise at the door.

Almost every wasted trip comes down to one of these. Two minutes now saves a second appointment.
Driver's license, state ID, or passport. California also accepts several secondary IDs — but a secondary ID issued more than five years ago won't work even if it hasn't expired. Check the issue date, not just the expiration.
For most documents the signature has to happen in front of me. If it's already signed, I may not be able to complete the notarization. Leave it blank and bring a pen.
Every person whose signature is being notarized has to be physically present, with their own ID. One missing signer means one missing notarization.
All pages, no blank spaces left in the body. If the document arrived without a California notarial certificate, tell me when you book — I carry compliant ones.
Mobile service by appointment. Outside the core area is usually still a yes — ask, and I'll quote the travel honestly.
